Acclaimed human rights activist The Hon. Michael Kirby and Melina Schamroth were co-named 2009 RMIT Communicator of the Year.
Melina has been humbled by honours for her work in support of nearly 400,000 people over more than two decades.
This recognition includes being named The CEO Magazine 2013 Executive of the Year for Community Achievement.
A major highlight was being co-named 2009 RMIT Communicator of the Year with one of her heroes, acclaimed human rights activist, The Hon. Michael Kirby.
Melina’s business, m.a.d.woman, won the National 2011 Telstra Business Awards – Yellow Pages Social Responsibility Award (as well as being name the Victorian State winner).
A finalist in the 2009 Premier’s Community Volunteering Leadership Awards, Melina was also a Finalist in the 2010 and 2008 BrainLink Women of Achievements.
Melina was also named one of the 40 Most Inspiring Women over 40 in Australia for 2013 by Prevention Magazine and also awarded a CALI award.
m.a.d.woman was a finalist in the 2011 City of Melbourne B3000 awards and was Highly Commended in the 2009 Anthill Cool Company Awards and Finalist in the 2010 Yarra Sustainable Business Awards.
